PASADENA, Calif. - Pasadena's Northwest Commission, the City Council-appointed advisory
body regarding services and activities for the city's northwest community, will hold a special
community meeting to discuss potential restructuring in response to the dissolution of
community redevelopment agencies and the City'S two redevelopment project area committees
(PACs): the Fair Oaks PAC and the Lincoln Avenue PAC.
The public is invited to share opinions and ideas with the Commission regarding what role it

Pasadena to Celebrate Fire Service Day With Open Houses and Demonstrations

PASADENA, Calif. – Meet the dedicated men and women of the Pasadena Fire Department during Fire Service Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 12, as local fire stations throw open their doors to the public.
The firefighters at Fire Station 33, 515 N. Lake Ave., will demonstrate life-saving and fire-suppression techniques, including how they put out vehicle fires, rescue motorists from vehicles using the Jaws of Life and operate their aerial ladders.

Wednesday, April 18 at Day One 4-7pm - Day One Youth Advocates with the help of Women at Work invite Pasadena-area youth to attend a free Teen Job Fair to help teenagers looking for employment. Teens will have the opportunity to speak directly with local businesses, sit in on informational sessions, including Mock Interviews, Resume Writing Workshops, Resume Critiquing, and learn about Youth Rights in the workplace.

City reaches out with community needs-assessment survey

Two city departments are teaming up this month to make sure Pasadena is providing the important services residents need most.
The departments of Human Services and Recreation and Housing have launched a community-wide needs-assessment survey, making it available at a variety of locations around the city and online. The two city departments are working together to make certain their services are aligned with critical needs of residents, and that limited community resources are used to their best effect. The effort is strongly supported by partnering community organizations.

The Inaugural Pasadena Rock'n'Roll Half Marathon is scheduled to occur on Sunday, February 19, 2012 and will feature a half marathon distance race that will start and end at the Rose Bowl. The course will wind through historic landmarks and business districts and will feature live entertainment at key spectator spots and at the finish line concert featuring "Sugar Ray."
